Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has emerged yet again as an efficient administrator in terms of speedy files-clearance.

A stark contrast was evident between his pace of decision-making and that of several ministers. Data shows that while Naidu handles governance and party responsibilities simultaneously, he continues to clear files far more swiftly than several others.

Of the 6,713 files that reached the CM so far, he has cleared 6,653, placing him sixth in overall performance. However, minister Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy won the first slot, Nimmala Ramanaidu the second, N. MD Farooq the third, B.C. Janardhan Reddy the fourth, P. Narayana the fifth, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu the sixth, Kandula Durgesh the seventh, Satya Kumar Yadav the eighth, Nara Lokesh the ninth, Kondapalli Srinivas the tenth, Pawan Kalyan the 11th, S Savita the 12th, Anagani Satyaprasad the 13th, Anama Ramanarayana Reddy the 14th, K Atchannaidu the 15th, Gottipati Ravikumar the 16th, TG Bharat the 17th, Vasamsetti Subhash the 18th, G Sandhya Rani the 19th, Vangalapudi Anita the 20th, K Parthasarathi the 21st, Nadendla Manohar the 22nd, Payyavula Kesav the 23rd, Kollu Ravindra the 24th and Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy the 25th rank.

Vangalapudi Anitha’s home department took an average of eight days for each file’s clearance. The transport department of Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy took up to 11 days to clear a file.

Social welfare minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy has emerged as the fastest performer, clearing files in an average of two days for each file. Water resources minister Nimmala Ramanaidu took two days and seven hours per file.

Deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan has processed 2,001 files, taking an average of four days and nine hours per file.

Nara Lokesh, who holds several significant portfolios, has processed 3,669 out of 3,916 files, taking three days and ten hours on average for each file. He stands at ninth position in overall efficiency rankings.

In a stern message to various departments, Naidu made it clear that manual files would not be permitted after January 15. All file-processing must shift to a fully online system. Strict action would be taken against officials who fail to comply.

Responding sharply to reports of delays, the CM wondered how certain officers were taking over 15 days to clear a file. “Does minister Ramprasad Reddy receive more sensitive files than I do,” he asked.

Expressing anger over the performance of the tribal welfare department, the CM noted that it was taking nearly 12 days to process a single file. “Tribal communities are mong the most backward. By delaying their files, you are pushing them further behind,” he told the officials.

Reiterating that accountability was important, the CM said if any minister, secretary or district collector lagged in file disposal, “I would personally review the pending cases in my capacity as chief minister and “sensitise” the officials concerned.”
