Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has vowed to make efforts that will wipe out poverty among the tribal communities in Andhra Pradesh.

Paying tributes to Sant Sevalal Maharaj on his 288th birth anniversary at a programme held at his residence in Undavalli here on Saturday, the CM promised to implement all tribal laws to safeguard the Adivasi.
He underlined the need to draw inspiration from Sant Sevalal’s commitment to eliminate superstitions from among the tribal communities and adhere to non-violence. He maintained that the state government is making all efforts to protect the interests of the tribal population, including by implementing welfare programmes for their benefit.
“We have targeted to work for ensuring that there is zero poverty among the tribal communities living in hilly areas as well as Yanadi, Banjara and Chenchu people living in plain areas. Special programmes will be implemented in places where more number of poor Adivasi are living,” Chandrababu Naidu announced.
He declared that they will launch Public-Private-Peoples’ Partnership (P4) in Andhra Pradesh from Ugadi festival, so that poverty is eliminated. He vowed to create wealth and give it to the poor.
Referring to the formulation of Swarnandhra Vision-2047, the Chief Minister said it is aimed at making people wealthy, healthy and happy. He assured all efforts to realise these three goals.
Reiterating his commitment to implement the ideals of Sant Sevalal, Chandrababu Naidu recalled that when upper caste people had upper hand in tribal hamlets, they had been declared as panchayats, even though the hamlets had a population of just 500. This enabled the state government to extend all financial help to the tribespeople.
The TD chief underlined that his party had made Adivasi as legislators and ministers. He reminded people how Chandulal from Warangal had become the first tribal person to become a minister in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
The CM wished that Banjaras develop financially and politically and assured all help in this regard.
Dwelling at length on the life history of Sant Sevalal Maharaj, the Chief Minister underlined that the state government has organised his birth anniversary as a state-level programme. He directed officials to release ₹50 lakh to organise special programmes at the native village of Sant Sevalal.
