Vijayawada: Telugu Desam national president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday called upon the party leaders and cadre to prepare from now on for the 2029 elections and the local body polls.

Addressing the partymen on the concluding day of the Hybrid Mahanadu at the TD headquarters in Mangalagiri, Naidu urged them to reach out to people in coordination with officials and ensure proper implementation of welfare schemes at the grassroots level.

“Irrespective of your position, you should maintain discipline and good public conduct. The need is also to have coordination with alliance partners, the Jana Sena and the BJP at every level,” he said.

“We must maintain good character,” he said.

Naidu said the Hybrid Mahanadu had become a new source of inspiration for the party, and raised the slogan: “Goddali Party Never Again — NDA Again and Again.”

Referring to the political resolution, the Chief Minister said the annual conclave was conducted in hybrid mode in view of the ongoing West Asia conflict and described this as a major political experiment.

He said party leaders and cadres participated in the Mahanadu through 1,875 cluster centres across the state and from 12 countries. Around 16.78 lakh people attended the two-day conclave, he said.

Naidu thanked party workers for their commitment and said the party had spent `160 crore on cadre welfare. “We are also focusing on education, empowerment and skill development for the children of party workers.”

“Our target is ethical economic empowerment of party cadres and I will take the responsibility to promote financially those who are honest and morally upright,” he said.

Naidu appreciated the gesture of farmers who gave land under the Amaravati land pooling scheme and criticised the YSR Congress government, alleging that its policies had driven away investors.

He claimed the TD-led state government had restored investor confidence in Andhra Pradesh and said the Centre was extending support for Amaravati, the Polavaram project and Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

The Chief Minister alleged that the previous government had pushed the state into financial distress through borrowings of `10 lakh crore and said the present government was working to restructure debts and revive the economy.

Defining “CM” as “Common Man”, Naidu said governance was being implemented with such an approach. He reiterated the government’s goal of making AP the lead state in the country by 2047.

Naidu highlighted welfare schemes including pension distribution, Stree Shakti, Thalliki Vandanam and Deepam 2.0, and said the government planned to complete major irrigation projects across the state at a cost of `40,000 crore.

Naidu also spoke about interlinking the Godavari and Kaveri rivers, diverting Godavari waters to Nallamala Sagar and improving groundwater storage.

Referring to the TD’s proposal for 33 per cent reservation for women within the party, he said efforts would be made with the support of the Centre to secure greater representation for women.
