Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials to resolve public grievances, including petitions submitted through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS), with a humanitarian approach and stressed the need for employees and officials to develop soft skills.
Reviewing the functioning of various departments at the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) Centre in the State Secretariat, the Chief Minister said officials should address complaints by placing themselves in the position of petitioners and ensure citizens are treated courteously.
"Officials should focus on resolving complaints by placing themselves in the position of the petitioner. Citizens who approach officials and employees seeking solutions to their problems should be treated courteously. This will create a positive perception of governance among the people," said Naidu in an official press release.
The Chief Minister said employees should be encouraged to think innovatively and that responsibilities would be assigned based on performance.
He emphasised the need for effective utilisation of human resources, continuous enhancement of administrative capabilities and adapt work culture to changing times through greater focus on field visits and ground-level assessments.
Noting that technology has simplified administrative processes, Naidu said file clearances can now be handled efficiently.
He cautioned that systems could become ineffective if innovative thinking is not encouraged. He also said governance reforms training has been provided to employees and officials to strengthen administrative efficiency.
Raising concerns over misinformation, the Chief Minister alleged that certain groups attempt to politicise issues and give caste or religious colour to incidents, leading to controversies and fake propaganda.
He urged officials and employees to remain vigilant and act responsibly to curb misinformation and prevent the spread of hatred.
Naidu further noted that some individuals commit crimes due to mental health issues, while others are being influenced by drug and ganja addiction.
The government is tracing old criminal cases, including offences committed in 2019, and arresting the accused, he said, adding that such developments should be communicated to the public.
Stressing that no offender can escape justice, the Chief Minister also directed vehicle owners to strictly comply with prescribed number plate regulations.
He further called for efforts to establish a Quantum Park and a Semiconductor Park ahead of the launch of a quantum computer scheduled for December.
The Chief Minister also emphasised the need to increase greenery, maintain cleanliness, improve water security and groundwater levels, conserve water resources and protect rivers from pollution.
