MLA Opens Trupti Canteen in Gajuwaka
The canteen has been established with the support of GVMC and MEPMA and is being managed by women’s self-help group members.
VISAKHAPATNAM: Telugu Desam state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao inaugurated a Trupti Canteen near the Aganampudi government hospital on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said the state government was giving priority to the economic empowerment of women through various welfare and employment-oriented programmes. He said employment opportunities were being created for members of women’s self-help groups to help them achieve economic self-reliance.
The canteen has been established with the support of GVMC and MEPMA and is being managed by women’s self-help group members. Mr Rao said it was the second Trupti Canteen within GVMC limits, with another being operated by women at RK Beach.
He said the canteens would provide sustainable employment and income to women while making quality and affordable food available to the public.
