Sri City Blast Victims’ Families To Get Relief Package
Families of five workers killed in the Sri City industrial blast will receive compensation, with each family assured of financial and rehabilitation support.
Families of the five workers killed in the October 3 industrial explosion at TIL Healthcare Private Limited in Sri City will receive financial assistance under a comprehensive relief package, district collector Dr S. Venkateswar said on Monday.
Addressing the bereaved families at the Sri City Business Centre, the collector said TIL Healthcare would directly transfer ₹50 lakh to the nominee of each deceased worker within two days. The remaining workmen’s compensation dues would be released subsequently, with cheques expected to be handed over within the next couple of days.
The total compensation package for the five victims is: Tanniru Vasu – ₹78.56 lakh, K. Chinna Masthan – ₹72.72 lakh, Gourab Roy – ₹76.98 lakh, Ramesh Nataraj – ₹61.50 lakh and B. Mohan Raj – ₹65.65 lakh.
The collector said the state government would extend all possible support for rehabilitation of the affected families, including employment opportunities for eligible dependents. He also announced stringent safety inspections and audits across industrial units in the district.
Sri City managing director Dr Ravindra Sannareddy assured the families of full support, including assistance for the education of the victims’ children and employment opportunities. He said Sri City would conduct third-party private safety audits in addition to government inspections.
Superintendent of police L. Subbarayudu said worker safety protocols and regulatory compliance would be strictly enforced across industrial zones.
TIL Healthcare President and Managing Director Kapil Jhaver was also present.
