Vijayawada: MSME minister Kondapalli Srinivas on Wednesday directed officials to accelerate implementation of MSME programmes and ensure last-mile delivery.

Chairing a review meeting at the Andhra Pradesh MSME Development Corporation office in Mangalagiri, he emphasised on the need to align government interventions with the emerging industrial landscape and potential development of employment.

“Our focus must be on tailor-made upskilling programmes that directly match sectoral demands. We cannot afford generic solutions,” Srinivas pointed out.

Those present at the meeting included MSME Development Corporation chairman Thammireddy Siva Sankara Rao and CEO Vishwa M, apart from senior officials of micro, small and medium industries department.

The minister called for faster grounding of Common Facility Centres with resolution of bottlenecks without delay. He wanted district collectors to lead outreach and awareness programmes with regard to the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative.

“Schemes will only be effective if entrepreneurs are truly aware of them,” he underlined.

Further, Srinivas reviewed the implementation of PM Vishwakarma scheme and assessed the status of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), with specific reference to targets for the current financial year. To improve accessibility for entrepreneurs, he suggested development of an AI-powered chatbot as a single-window digital interface.

“Entrepreneurs should not have to struggle for basic information. A smart, interactive solution can bridge that gap and simplify the process,” he added.
