APSRTC recorded an all-time high revenue of Rs 27.68 crore on January 19, marking a milestone never witnessed before in the corporation's history
Vijayawada: The APSRTC has set a new record by getting all-time highest revenue of `27.68 crore by transporting 5.06 million passengers across the state on January 19.
The APSRTC authorities said the record performance was achieved by operating special bus services at normal fares, coupled with overwhelming patronage from the passengers. In the post-Sankranti return rush, the RTC authorities have taken up extensive advance measures to ensure hassle-free travel to the passengers and accordingly special buses were operated across the state to meet the increase in demand. They said that by operating special buses, it helped the passengers to reduce their travel costs and a large number of passengers preferred the RTC buses over private buses and personal vehicles.
Moreover, the RTC authorities maintained that the record revenue was possible through advance deployment of buses, provision of adequate infrastructure, efficient operational management, continuous monitoring and dynamic allocation of services based on passenger demand.
APSRTC managing director and vice-chairman Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao congratulated all the employees for their collective effort and coordination and conveyed heartfelt thanks to passengers for their exceptional support shown towards APSRTC’s special services and sounded confident of getting the same patronage in the future also.
