Minister Kondapalli Pays Tributes To Gurajada
MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas paid tributes to Gurajada Apparao on his 164th birth anniversary and highlighted his enduring contribution to Telugu literature and social reform.
Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinivas on Monday paid tributes to writer and social reformer Gurajada Apparao on the occasion of his 164th birth anniversary.
Addressing an official programme at the Vizianagaram collector’s office, the minister said Gurajada’s writings remained timeless and continued to inspire society with their humanistic values and message of social reform. He stressed the need to protect Telugu culture, traditions and classical literature while ensuring that younger generations remained connected to them.
The minister also recalled the Telugu community that migrated from the erstwhile Visakhapatnam district to Malaysia over a century ago and said it was commendable that they continued to preserve the Telugu language and traditions, with even the younger generation following Telugu customs.
He thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and minister N. Lokesh for declaring Gurajada Jayanti an official state festival.
Teachers’ MLC Gade Srinivasulu Naidu called for wider dissemination of Gurajada’s works among youth through digital platforms.
Members of Gurajada’s family, literary and cultural organisations, officials and literature lovers participated in the programme. Winners of competitions organised for Gurajada Jayanti were felicitated, while students of Maharaja Music College presented cultural performances.
