Minister Dola Holds Surprise Inspection at KGH

The minister sought information regarding the standard of care provided and reviewed official documentation about hospital operations

Visakhapatnam: Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, in-charge minister of Visakhapatnam district, visited the King George Hospital (KGH) unannounced on Friday. He conducted an inspection to evaluate the quality of medical services and the state of infrastructural facilities. He spoke to patients and medical personnel across various departments during his visit.

The minister sought information regarding the standard of care provided and reviewed official documentation about hospital operations. Speaking to patients, he underscored the government’s commitment to deliver high-quality healthcare, particularly to economically disadvantaged segments.

He announced that the casualty ward of KGH is being renovated at a cost of ₹1 crore. A proposal has been submitted for establishing a new gynaecology ward.

Dr. Veeranjaneya Swamy reiterated that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is committed to fostering a healthy Andhra Pradesh. Medical professionals must align their efforts with this objective.

Incidentally, the minister is an alumnus of Andhra Medical College. He met KGH doctors and administrative staff. He directed them to create child-friendly facilities, including a feeding room and dedicated children's toilets in the proximity of the outpatient area.

Dr. Veeranjaneya Swamy instructed staff to interact with their patients courteously. He cautioned against any form of malpractice, warning that stringent action will be taken against personnel found accepting bribes. In this regard, he said CCTV cameras will be installed throughout the hospital facility to enhance monitoring processes.

The minister assured that state government would consider establishing additional buildings and recruiting medical personnel as required.
