TIRUPATI: Preparations have been completed at the Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple in Srinivasamangapuram for the annual Sakshatkara Vaibhavotsavams to be held from July 17 to 19.

Ahead of the festival, Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam was performed on Thursday with religious fervour. The rituals began with Suprabhata Seva, followed by Thomala Seva, Koluvu and Panchanga Sravanam. The purification ritual was conducted from 6 am to 11.30 am, during which the temple premises and puja articles were cleansed with holy water and a sacred herbal mixture containing sandalwood, turmeric, kasturi and kumkum. Devotees were allowed for darshan from 12.30 pm.

During the three-day festival, the deity will be taken in procession around the four Mada streets on Pedda Sesha Vahanam on Friday, Hanumantha Vahanam on Saturday and Garuda Vahanam on Sunday.

Tirupati-based devotee Narasimhulu donated curtains to the temple during the ritual. Temple special grade deputy executive officer Varalakshmi, assistant executive officer Gopinath, priests, officials and staff participated in the programme.
