CID Probes Appointment of Former TTD IT General Manager
The CID officials are collecting records to verify whether there was any overlap in employment or salary payments
TIRUPATI: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) has begun an inquiry into the appointment of former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) IT general manager L.M. Sandeep Reddy following allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process and during his tenure.
The inquiry follows a preliminary vigilance report submitted by the TTD vigilance wing in August 2024, which reportedly found that the appointment was not made in accordance with the prescribed recruitment rules and flagged deficiencies in the prescribed qualifications. Based on the report, TTD executive officer Muddada Ravichandra referred the matter to the CID for a detailed investigation.
According to sources, the CID is examining all stages of the recruitment process to ascertain whether any rules were violated. Officials are verifying the prescribed educational qualifications for the post, the recruitment notification, the list of applicants, the candidates who attended the interview and the selection process.
The agency is also examining Sandeep Reddy’s tenure as IT general manager, including allegations that confidential information relating to the TTD may have been leaked during his service.
Another allegation under investigation is that Sandeep Reddy continued to work as a computer operator at SVIMS while simultaneously drawing a salary as TTD’s IT general manager. The CID officials are collecting records to verify whether there was any overlap in employment or salary payments.
