VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh BJP president P.V.N. Madhav on Tuesday criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on issues concerning students, accusing him of attempting to provoke youth for political purposes.

In a statement, Madhav said national leaders should discuss issues affecting young people in a responsible manner rather than, as he alleged, stirring emotions for political gain.

He said the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to transparency, accountability and youth empowerment.

The BJP leader urged students not to be influenced by political agendas and to focus on their academic and career goals. He also called on the youth to contribute towards the country’s development.

Madhav was responding to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on the digital on-screen marking system for CBSE Class XII examinations, allegations of caste bias at Delhi University and reported paper leak issues relating to NEET-UG.
