Lokesh Stresses Party Discipline, Calls For Stronger IT Wing
TD leader Nara Lokesh urged leaders to follow party discipline, strengthen the organisation and IT wing, and use technology to expand the party’s outreach.
Telugu Desam national working president Nara Lokesh has called for strict adherence to the party line by all leaders, irrespective of seniority, and stressed the need to strengthen the organisation and its IT wing.
Addressing a meet-and-greet event with the party’s training resource personnel at the TD central office in Amaravati, Lokesh said every leader should take party chief Chandrababu Naidu as a role model. “You must work with dedication in accordance with the party’s core principle that ‘society is the temple and the people are the gods’,” he said.
The minister said training had been completed for 8,300 cluster/booth in-charges across the state against a target of training 50,000 cadre. Training programmes for leaders would continue at the party headquarters.
Lokesh said TD leaders had visited 1.13 crore households in 45 days as part of the recent Intintiki Telugu Desam programme. He said no individual was bigger than the party and all leaders must abide by a decision once taken by the party.
Recognition in the party, he said, would be based solely on performance; ruling out recommendations and lobbying. The party was using AI to take its programmes to the grassroots-level faster and more effectively. Leaders should develop an understanding of advanced technology.
Lokesh said health check-ups were being conducted for leaders attending training sessions and that the party leadership wanted them to become financially stronger and self-reliant. Citing the BJP’s three consecutive terms in power at the Centre, he attributed its success to the commitment of its cadre and urged TD workers to work hard for continuity of the government in the state.
The working president said it was not possible to provide opportunities to everyone at a time and assured that those who missed out in the first phase for various reasons would be considered for posts in subsequent phases. He also interacted with senior leaders who had served the party since its inception and presented appreciation certificates to those effectively conducting training programmes.
At a separate review meeting on ITDP, Lokesh said the focus should be on strengthening the organisation rather than individuals. He directed party leaders to complete ITDP committee appointments quickly and ensure all its members were connected to the My TDP app.
Lokesh called for closer coordination between ITDP and other party wings, besides strengthening its technological capabilities. He also directed the IT wing to widely communicate the government’s development and welfare programmes to the public and effectively counter the YSRC’s campaigns against the government.
The state president of the Telugu Desam Palla Srinivasa Rao, Rajya Sabha member Chintakayala Vijay, party human resources wing coordinator Vepada Chiranjeevi and others attended the meetings.
