Lokesh Slams YSRC, Calls It 'Hit-and-Run Party'
Nara Lokesh accused the previous YSRC government of neglecting Rayalaseema and hindering industrial growth.
Minister Nara Lokesh on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that the previous government “neglected Rayalaseema and failed to generate employment for the youth.”
Addressing the media after laying the foundation for expansion of the Dalmia Cement plant near Chinnakomarla in Kadapa district, Lokesh said the YSRC government did not bring a single major industry to the region during its five-year tenure. “They promised thousands of jobs through projects like Brahmani Steel, but not even one job materialised,” he alleged.
He also accused the previous government of harassing industries. “Notices were issued even to Dalmia Cement, threatening closure unless money was paid. Such actions created fear among investors.”
Highlighting the state government’s initiatives, Lokesh said industries like Kia Motors have generated livelihoods for nearly 30,000 people directly and indirectly. Several new investments, including cement factories, manufacturing units and global companies, were being brought to Andhra Pradesh.
“In just three months, we have initiated multiple projects in Kadapa and Rayalaseema. Our goal is balanced development with decentralisation,” he said.
The minister also claimed that the government is committed to creating 20 lakh jobs and has taken steps such as issuing a job calendar, filling 16,000 teacher posts through DSC within 150 days, and completing constable recruitment.
Lokesh said the government was also focusing on sectors like horticulture and water management, particularly in drought-prone Rayalaseema. All districts in the region would witness industrial growth and infrastructure development in the coming years.
