KAKINADA: Eluru District 5th Additional District and Sessions Judge R.V.V.S. Murali Krishna on Friday awarded life imprisonment and a fine of ₹1,000 to Paladugula Durga Prasad of Galayigudem in Denduluru mandal for murder. In default of fine payment, Durga Prasad will undergo one month of simple imprisonment.

According to Denduluru police, there had been monetary disputes between Durga Prasad and his brother. On the evening of September 2, 2022, the brother of the accused demanded repayment of money and an altercation took place between the two of them. On the same night, the accused went to his brother’s house and the latter with a knife, leading to his death while undergoing medical treatment.

Eluru district superintendent of police K. Pratap Shiva Kishore has appreciated police staff for successfully pursuing the case and ensuring punishment to the guilty.
