Nellore: Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy on Wednesday said Kavali was on the cusp of rapid transformation with major infrastructure and industrial projects, including the upcoming Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) unit, a proposed airport at Dagadarthi, industrial development at Juvvaladinne and a planned logistics hub at Bitragunta.

Launching road development works worth nearly `3 crore along with local MLA D. Venkata Krishna Reddy at Kavali, the MP said Kavali would emerge as a “Kanaka Patnam” (golden town) in the coming years due to its strategic location and industrial growth prospects.

The projects inaugurated included cement roads sanctioned under MPLADS funds at Poleramma Arugu–Krishna Bomma Centre (`45 lakh) and Balakrishna Reddy Nagar (Rs `lakh), besides road and infrastructure works worth over `2.3 crore funded through the Andhra Pradesh Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation.

Highlighting future prospects, Vemireddy said the BPCL project, expected to commence within months, would bring massive investments and generate employment, business and ancillary industrial opportunities for local youth. He also announced that another industry proposed at Juvvaladinne would create over 800 jobs.

The MP said tenders had already been invited for the proposed Dagadarthi airport, which would further boost economic activity in the region. Plans were also being prepared to develop Bitragunta, where nearly 700 acres of government land is available, into an industrial park and multi-modal logistics park.

“With Ramayapatnam Port, the BPCL project, Dagadarthi airport and upcoming industries surrounding Kavali, there is no looking back for the constituency’s development,” he said.

Vemireddy praised MLA Krishna Reddy for securing development funds despite financial constraints and credited the coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for accelerating welfare and infrastructure projects across the state.

Coalition leaders, officials and local residents participated in the programme.
