The gym trainer killed by his friends in Kakinada in the early hours of Wednesday is found to be targeted for having an extra-marital affair.
Kodamati Satish Reddy, 30, was murdered by his friends using a sharp wooden wedge. Police said that Satish Reddy, belonging to Ramakrishnaraopet in Kakinada, had been working as a gym trainer. He lost his father at a very early age. Last year, he got married to Jayasri, who is pregnant now.
Recently, Satish Reddy developed closeness with his friend Bondala Saikiran's girlfriend. This led to frequent quarrels between Satish and his wife.
In a bid to resolve the issue, Jayasri told Saikiran about her husband's affair with his girlfriend, which led to disputes between them. Amidst the differences, Saikiran's friends clashed with Satish Reddy. They attacked him with a wooden plank on his head.
During this time, the plank broke at one corner, like a wedge, and the assailants pierced it in Satish Reddy's neck, killing him instantaneously.
On being informed by Satish Reddy's friend Altaf, his brother Errayya Reddy reached the place of crime and lodged a police complaint. The body was shifted to the government hospital mortuary.
The accused are absconding and a manhunt has been launched, the police said.
