VMC Fines Three Eateries For Poor Hygiene
VMC fined three Vijayawada eateries ₹7,000 for unhygienic kitchens during inspections and warned food establishments to strictly follow hygiene and safety norms.
The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has intensified inspections of hotels, bar-and-restaurants, juice shops and tea stalls to ensure food safety and protect public health. Three food establishments were fined a total of `7,000 for failing to maintain proper kitchen hygiene.
Acting on the directions of VMC commissioner H.M. Dhyanachandra, officials inspected several establishments in the 37th division under circle-1 on Thursday and found violations related to cleanliness and hygiene.
Trinadh tiffin centre and Trinadh fast food centre were fined `3,000 each, while Mahalakshmi sweets and samosa was fined `1,000 for maintaining unhygienic kitchens.
Officials directed operators to maintain prescribed hygiene standards, keep kitchens and food-storage areas clean, and store food in covered containers to protect it from dust and insects. They stressed personal hygiene among food-service staff and warned that strict action would be taken against establishments violating food safety norms.
