Kadapa Carving New Identity As CCTV Manufacturing Hub
The latest addition to the product line includes PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras, known for their ability to cover large areas and provide precise surveillance with high-quality imaging.
Kadapa: Kadapa mostly associated with Mydukur’s famed turmeric and the iconic Gandikota Grand Canyon, is now carving a new identity nationally as a major hub for CCTV camera manufacturing. Its surveillance systems have a market across the country.
At the heart of this transformation is the AIL Dixon located in the Kopparthi Industrial Park. The company is manufacturing advanced, international-standard CCTV cameras. The facility is currently manufacturing nearly 85,000 cameras per day, catering to the growing nationwide demand.
“There is a stable and expanding market for these cameras. The quality being produced here is on par with global standards,” said Suraj Kumar Mehta, a Bengaluru-based bulk buyer of the AIL Dixon CCTV systems.
The unit produces a wide range of surveillance equipment, including dome cameras, DVR and NVR systems, and high-resolution IP and smart cameras used in homes, offices, and apartment complexes. Engineers at the facility highlight the superior clarity and pixel quality of the devices, especially when reviewing archived footage.
“These cameras offer exceptional clarity even when analysing old recordings as the technology being used is highly advanced,” an engineer associated with the company explained.
Biometric-integrated cameras manufactured at the plant are increasingly being deployed for security and crime prevention purposes. Its bullet cameras are receiving positive feedback from buyers across India.
“We procured around 30,000 bullet cameras from AIL Dixon. Their performance and durability are impressive,” said Manoj Jasyap from Indore.

Industry sources indicate that nearly 30 per cent of the CCTV cameras installed across India are now being manufactured in Kadapa. This marks a significant shift as buyers, who once depended on metropolitan cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Delhi, are now sourcing cameras directly from this Rayalaseema district.
The manufacturing unit operates in three shifts, providing employment to around 6,000 people. With the success achieved, AIL Dixon is implementing its second phase of expansion involving an investment of Rs 450 crore.
“Kadapa is no longer just known merely for its historical and agricultural significance. It is now emerging as a key player in India’s electronics manufacturing sector,” an industry official underlined.
