Government Sanctions Rs 1,381 Crore Advance Tariff Subsidy To DISCOMs
The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday sanctioned Rs 1,381 crore as advance tariff subsidy to the state's three power distribution companies for the fiscal 2026-27.

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday sanctioned Rs 1,381 crore as advance tariff subsidy to the state's three power distribution companies for the fiscal 2026-27.
K Vijayanand, special chief secretary, Energy Department, said the sanctioned tariff subsidy includes Rs 332 crore for Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Ltd (APEPDCL), Rs 603 crore to Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Ltd (APSPDCL) and Rs 445 crore to Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (APCPDCL).
"The government, after careful examination, hereby accords administrative sanction for an amount of Rs 1,380.7 crore towards payment of advance Tariff Subsidy for the financial year 2026-27," said Vijayanand in a Government Order (GO).
Following the sanction of Rs 1,381 crore advance tariff subsidy for the DISCOMs, the special chief secretary noted that the department is still left with a budget of Rs 1,364 crore.
From an available budget of Rs 2,744.4 crore, he said Rs 1,381 crore was sanctioned to the DISCOMs as advance tariff subsidy, leaving a balance amount of Rs 1,364 crore.
