Janasena Leader Flags Illegal Construction at MVP Colony in Vizag
Satyanarayana claimed that Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation officials identified the deviations during an inspection in December 2025 but failed to stop the construction.
Visakhapatnam:Janasena leader and environmental activist Bolisetty Satyanarayana alleged major building rule violations at MVP Colony, claiming that a multi-storey structure was constructed far beyond the permitted limits with official negligence.
Satyanarayana said a ‘Cellar plus Ground plus 6’ floor building had been erected on a 283-square-yard residential plot, though permission was allegedly granted only for four upper floors.
He alleged that the building lacks mandatory setbacks on the east and west sides, posing a serious fire hazard and also includes an illegal sub-structure violating the Andhra Pradesh Building Rules, 2025.
Satyanarayana claimed that Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation officials identified the deviations during an inspection in December 2025 but failed to stop the construction.
He opposed any move to regularise the violations under the Building Penalisation Scheme (BPS), arguing that such action would compromise public safety and urban planning norms.
The Janasena leader demanded that authorities publicly release the sanctioned building plans and technical safety report, warning of intensified legal action if officials fail to act.
