Jana Sena MLA Sridhar Resigns As Assembly Whip

Vijayawada: Jana Sena MLA from Railway Koduru Arava Sridhar resigned from his post as Assembly Whip on Saturday amid allegations of sexual harassment and growing controversy.
Sridhar met Jana Sena chief and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and submitted his resignation letter. Party sources said the MLA cited personal reasons for stepping down while also explaining his position on the allegations levelled against him.
Sources said Jana Sena had already constituted a three-member committee to inquire into the complaints. The issue has since triggered discussion in political circles.
Meanwhile, Polavaram MLA Chirri Balaraju also met Pawan Kalyan, who reviewed his performance and sought clarification over complaints received by the party.
Pawan Kalyan reportedly directed Balaraju to resolve all allegations and grievances within four weeks. He also reviewed the progress of ₹147 crore worth of development works sanctioned for panchayats in the constituency and questioned delays in execution.
Balaraju assured the Deputy Chief Minister that pending works would be expedited in coordination with officials and promised to address the issues that led to complaints against him.
