Chittoor: As a move towards making available world-class health services to all, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the Sanjeevani project, aimed at safeguarding public health, will be launched statewide from August 15 this year.
The Chief Minister attended the Sanjeevani programme held at Yadamari in Puthalapattu constituency of Chittoor district today and described Sanjeevani as not merely a software platform but a comprehensive digital public health operative system. He said Andhra Pradesh is progressing from “illness to wellness”, calling Sanjeevani a Citizen Wellness Mission of the state government. The system, he explained, will function on three principles—preventive, predictive, and curative healthcare—with a focus on early detection, disease prevention, and timely treatment.
The Chief Minister said doctors will continuously monitor individual digital health records through the system. It may be noted that initially, the Sanjeevani project is launched as a pilot project in Kuppam and implemented across the Chittoor district since March.
The Chief Minister stated that the government has initiated measures to conduct 42 medical tests at citizens’ doorsteps and provide reports directly. Through the Sanjeevani Project, every aspect of public health will be monitored, including doctor appointments, virtual consultations, and digital health record tracking via the Sanjeevani Card. He also announced that the government is working towards introducing AI-enabled doctor services soon.
The Chief Minister noted that many families are suffering financially due to unaffordable medical expenses and said the government introduced innovative projects like Sanjeevani to address these hardships. He reiterated that the coalition government gives top priority to education and healthcare. He stated that Rs 19,305 crore has been allocated to the health sector in this year’s budget and Andhra Pradesh secured the highest health grant of Rs 2,601 crore from the 15th Finance Commission.
Under the Universal Health Policy, he said every citizen—regardless of economic background—will receive healthcare benefits worth Rs 2.5 lakh, while treatment costs up to Rs 25 lakh will be covered through NTR Vaidya Seva and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The government is also filling vacancies in government hospitals to ensure better healthcare access for the poor.
Referring to water conservation, the Chief Minister stressed the need for environmental conservation and responsible water usage. He said efficient water management has helped the state preserve water resources and improve groundwater levels.
He stated that through the Handri–Neeva canal, water has reached the tail-end regions of Rayalaseema. He said government interventions in Annamayya district have improved groundwater levels, contributing to increased greenery and lower temperatures. Referring to the El Niño effect, he noted severe heat conditions and said Piduguralla recorded temperatures as high as 49°C.
Given expectations of lower rainfall, he urged people to conserve water. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to completing irrigation projects, he said works are progressing according to a published calendar.
He announced that Neeva project works will be completed to bring Krishna water through Puthalapattu to Chittoor, symbolically stating that water would flow from Srisailam Mallanna to Tirupati Venkanna.
The Chief Minister added that Galeru–Nagari up to Koduru and Mallemadugu Balaji Reservoir will be completed by December 2028
Somasila–Swarnamukhi Link Canal is targeted for completion by June 2028
Rayalaseema to become a fighter jet manufacturing hub.He said the foundation stone has been laid in Puttaparthi for a 5th-generation fighter aircraft manufacturing project, transforming Rayalaseema into a defence manufacturing hub.

Addressing concerns over rising fuel prices due to conflict in West Asia, he described the situation as temporary. The Chief Minister alleged that the success of the coalition government’s Super Six welfare schemes and development initiatives has unsettled the opposition, which he repeatedly referred to as the “axe party”.
He said people should carefully distinguish between politics aimed at protecting lives and promoting welfare and politics based on fear and deception. Without naming individuals directly, he accused opposition leaders of repeatedly spreading falsehoods and dramatising issues before the media. He also stated that he was arrested and jailed without proper notice and said the coalition government restored freedom to all after coming to power.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the coalition government is working toward the vision of a “Healthy, Wealthy, Happy Andhra Pradesh.”Later, he inspected various stalls set up at the public venue.
