Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Vijayawada:YSR Congress president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy questioned Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu over how long he would continue what Jagan described as “deceptive politics” on BC reservations.

In a post on X, Jagan alleged that the State government’s efforts to provide 34% reservation to BCs were a political drama, despite knowing that the quota would face legal scrutiny. His remarks came after the Andhra Pradesh High Court struck down the government orders providing 34% reservation to BCs in local body elections.

Jagan said that if Naidu was genuinely committed to providing 34% reservation to BCs, he should persuade the NDA government at the Centre to establish a constitutionally and legally sustainable mechanism for implementing it.

He questioned whether Naidu had discussed the issue with the Centre and urged him to use his influence as an NDA ally to persuade the Union government to bring the necessary legal amendments to facilitate 34% reservation for BCs.
