Lokesh hints at job potential for 50,000 persons

Vijayawada, July 22: Education and IT minister Nara Lokesh has said several IT and non-IT firms are showing an interest to set up their companies at Mangalagiri in Guntur district.

These have a job potential for nearly 50,000 persons, he said at a review meeting he held with officials on Tuesday.
The meeting reviewed the progress of several developmental works in the Mangalagiri assembly segment. The minister advised the officials to strengthen the infrastructure needs of the constituency.
The minister directed the housing officials to arrange distribution of 2,000 house pattas in the second phase for those living in the government lands for decades. He asked the officials to speed up the process for house pattas for the remaining lands.
Lokesh underscored the need to construct 10,000 TIDCO houses in the Mangalagiri segment and asked officials to start land acquisition for this purpose.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of several works like construction of the Tadepalli retaining wall, development of the Mangalagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, development of an underground drainage system, the gems and jewellery park, construction of social welfare hostels, a modern library, development of parks and cemeteries and construction of community halls in the segment.
