Hyderabad: The elders in Uttarpalem village of East Godavari district boycotted the bridegroom’s family socially for marrying a SC girl after love.
The elders also threatened to impose a fine if anyone tried to extend help to the groom’s family, which later lodged a complaint with the police.
D Venkatesh of Uttarpalem fell in love with Revathi of East Godavari district three years ago. With the consent of family members, the marriage of Venkatesh and Revanthi was performed a few days ago.
Upon receiving information, the village elders’ boycotted the groom’s family and threatened to impose a fine if anyone tried to cooperate with them. This prompted Venkatesh’s family to lodge a complaint with the police.
