Badvel police arrested nine persons after raiding a house at Ramanjaneya Nagar on Telugu Ganga Road in Badvel town, following complaints of gambling involving electronic devices.

According to police, the gang had acquired online specialised electronic scanning devices, including iPhone-model gadgets, Bluetooth equipment and digital earphones. Using these devices, police said, operators could determine in advance which card would appear during the game. They transmitted the information through Bluetooth-connected devices, enabling organisers to manipulate games and cheat participants.

The gang also stored and sold liquor on the premises.

Acting on specific information, police raided the house under the direction of YSR Kadapa district superintendent of police and under the supervision of Mydukur SDPO. Badvel Urban sub-inspector S. Jayaramulu, along with A. Rangarao and other personnel took part in the operation.

Police seized electronic devices and other material allegedly used in the cheating operations.

Badvel police have registered a case and are examining whether similar gangs are operating elsewhere in the district.
