HC Directs Police Not To Take Coercive Action Against YSRC Leader Bhumana, Family

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed the police not to take any coercive action against YSRC senior leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and his family members in a case relating to alleged trespass.
A single-judge bench headed by Justice Y. Lakshmana Rao heard a petition filed by the Tirupati district collector alleging that Karunakar Reddy and his family members had trespassed into Survey No. 478 of an approved layout at Thanapalli in Tirupati Rural mandal.
The court directed the investigating officer to continue the investigation.
The court questioned the district collector’s connection with a dispute relating to a private approved layout and objected to describing Karunakar Reddy and his supporters as goondas.
It also questioned how the district collector could intervene in the dispute when the owner of the private approved layout had not lodged a complaint.
