GVMC To Host Flash Mob, Beach Walk Ahead Of Airport Inauguration

Visakhapatnam: The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) will organise a Mega Flash Mob and Beach Walk at RK Beach on July 31 at 6 a.m. under the theme "Proudly Vizag" to build public awareness ahead of the inauguration of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 1.
Announcing the programme, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg said the event is being organised under the directions of the State Government and appealed to citizens to participate in large numbers. Describing the airport as a landmark project, he said it would usher in a new phase of development for Andhra Pradesh by boosting economic growth in North Andhra, promoting tourism, attracting investments, generating employment and enhancing international connectivity.
The Commissioner urged officials, GVMC employees, students, youth, sportspersons, voluntary organisations, Resident Welfare Associations and the public to take part in the event, which will showcase Visakhapatnam's development, cleanliness, tourism potential and unity while highlighting the significance of the upcoming international airport.
