In a major relief, the Andhra Pradesh government has released Rs 620 crore towards payment of pending bills of the Rural Water Supply (RWS) contractors.
Thanking the government for releasing the funds, the contractors performed abhishekam with milk to the portraits of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM K. Pawan Kalyan.
Payment for pending bills up to March 31, 2026 would be cleared with the fund. During a meeting held with the contractors on June 18, the deputy CM promised to clear the pending payments. Accordingly, the funds have been released. Navyandhra RWS Contractors Association expressed happiness over the decision.
