Government Clears Auditorium Project in Guntur
The auditorium would become a major venue for cultural and social activities in Guntur and would be developed with modern facilities
VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday cleared the long-pending Sri Narla Venkateswara Rao Auditorium project in Brindavan Gardens, Guntur, paving the way for its execution under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The municipal administration and urban development department issued orders through G.O.Rt No. 531 dated May 7, 2026, permitting execution and completion of the project and authorising Guntur municipal Corporation to allot the work to the highest bidder and enter into a concession agreement.
Minister of state for rural development and communications Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar said the coalition government had revived the project after assuming office and assured that it would be completed within a year.
He said the auditorium would become a major venue for cultural and social activities in Guntur and would be developed with modern facilities.
The Union minister also credited Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi and former mayor Kovelamudi Ravindra for pursuing the project and acknowledged the role of municipal administration and urban development minister P. Narayana in securing approvals.
Dr Chandrasekhar thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and education and IT minister N. Lokesh for extending support to the project.
