YSRC MLC Questions Coalition on English-Medium Education, Criticises Government on School Infrastructure
He urged employees to unite and fight for their rights without fear of salary-related pressure
Nellore: YSRC MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy on Wednesday challenged coalition leaders to clarify their stand on English-medium education in government schools, referring to recent High Court observations supporting its continuation.
Addressing the media at the YSRC district office in Nellore, he said educational reforms introduced during former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure had transformed government schools through the Nadu-Nedu programme. He cited digital classrooms, CBSE and IB curriculum implementation, distribution of tabs to students, and improved infrastructure facilities.
He alleged that coalition leaders had earlier opposed English-medium education in government schools while educating their children in English-medium institutions. He said the High Court observations had vindicated the policy of the previous YSRC government.
The MLC said the recent Class X results were a reflection of the foundation laid during the earlier regime. He accused the coalition government of neglecting maintenance of RO plants, toilets, smart boards and student welfare schemes, including mid-day meals.
Parvathareddy also alleged that the government was “blackmailing” employees on issues related to PRC, DA and IR dues. He urged employees to unite and fight for their rights without fear of salary-related pressure.
Targeting the Telugu Desam, he alleged that the party shifted its proposed Mahanadu venue to Nellore due to declining political prospects in the district.
