VIJAYAWADA: The Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri hill in Vijayawada held a Giri Pradakshina on the occasion of Chaitra Pournami on Saturday. The sacred ritual drew thousands of devotees from across the state.
The procession commenced from Sri Kamadhenu Ammavari temple on the Ghat Road where temple priests and officials performed special pujas and initiated the ritual by breaking coconuts—an offering symbolising spiritual cleansing and devotion.

The Giri Pradakshina passed through Ghat Road Ammavari temple, Kummari Palem centre, Vidyadharapuram, milk factory, Chittinagar, Kotha *Peta and Brahmin street.
