Gajuwaka To Have Tallest Ganesh In Vizag
Gajuwaka is set to host a 117-foot Ganesh idol, claimed by organisers to be the tallest in North Andhra, during the upcoming festivities.
Gajuwaka, the industrial suburb of Visakhapatnam, is all set to host what organisers claim will be the tallest Ganesh idol in North Andhra, standing 117 feet tall.
Organiser Kosireddy Ganesh Kumar said the framework for the massive idol was made using around 400 bamboo poles and covered with special mud brought from a pond in Anakapalli. Led by artist Aripaka Krishna, a team of 26 workers has been working on the idol for the past two-and-a-half months, completing its structure on Friday. Only finishing touches are being given, he added.
“For the first time, one crore bangles are being used to adorn the idol. After the immersion, the bangles will be distributed among women devotees,” Ganesh Kumar said.
He said the Ganesh pandal would also feature entertainment attractions, including Yama Lokam and a Dino Park. An AI-enabled Ganesha will answer questions posed by devotees, he added.
On the immersion day, October 4, a 117-kg laddu will be auctioned and will be open to all devotees. Annadanam will also be organised on a selected auspicious day.
The organisers expect around five lakh devotees to visit the pandal during the festivities.
