Four Killed, Two Injured As Car Rams Into Tourist Bus In Nandyal district
Speeding car crashes into private travels bus after crossing divider; two others critically injured
ANANTAPUR: At least four people were killed on the spot and two others sustained serious injuries in a horrific road accident at Nallagatla village in Allagadda mandal of Nandyal district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as K. Gundu Rao (60), Shravani (22), Narasimha (42) and Bunny (25), all residents of Hyderabad. They were part of a catering team accompanying a tourist bus to cook food for passengers.
According to police, the catering team was travelling in a car when the driver reportedly lost control near Nallagatla, crossed the road divider and rammed head-on into an oncoming CGR Private Travels bus, which was heading from Hyderabad to Puducherry. The impact was severe, killing four car occupants instantly, while two others suffered critical injuries.
On receiving information, Allagadda DSP Pramod Kumar and his team rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. The injured were shifted to Allagadda hospital for treatment, while the bodies were sent to the same hospital for post-mortem examination. Police later cleared traffic after removing debris from the road.
Meanwhile, roads and buildings minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy expressed deep shock over the accident. Describing the loss of lives as extremely unfortunate, he sought details from district officials and directed authorities to ensure immediate medical care to the injured. He also conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and appealed to motorists to remain vigilant amid the rising number of road accidents.
