Visakhapatnam:Four children sustained serious burn injuries in a firecracker-related accident during a Durga Devi procession at Valandapeta in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.

The incident occurred when firecrackers were set off as part of the festivities, according to reports. The injured children were shifted to a private hospital in Visakhapatnam for treatment.

Locals said all four children were undergoing treatment. One child was reported to be in critical condition, while the others were under medical observation.

The incident caused panic among devotees and residents attending the procession.
