Kurnool SP S. Vikrant Patil appealed to the public and Ganesh festival organisers to conduct Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations and idol immersion programmes peacefully and without any untoward incidents.

The festivities will begin on September 14. Patil urged organisers to follow police guidelines and regulations. He said the state government had introduced a single-window clearance system for Ganesh pandals through ganeshutsav.net, with no fee for permissions.

He advised organisers not to set up pandals by encroaching on roads or obstructing traffic. Temporary CCTV cameras should be installed at every pandal, he said.

Patil also urged organisers to avoid high-volume sound systems and follow noise pollution norms. The public should not believe social media rumours and must inform police about suspicious information, he said.
