Vijayawada: Farmers, in a significant boost to the development of Amaravati, voluntarily came forward on Wednesday to contribute more than 100 acres of land under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) for the construction of the state capital.

Farmers from Thulluru, Rayapudi, Lingayapalem and Velagapudi villages visited the capital region development authority office and submitted consent letters expressing their willingness to pool their lands for the capital project.

The consent letters were handed over to APCRDA additional commissioner Bhargava Teja and others.

The farmers said they were happy to be partners in the development of Amaravati.

Officials stated that the enthusiastic response from landowners reflected the growing confidence in the capital development process. Farmers who participated in the programme appealed to other landowners in the capital region villages to join the land pooling initiative. They also urged residents to extend their cooperation to APCRDA authorities in the ongoing development of Amaravati.

According to APCRDA officials, a total of 100.885 acres was voluntarily pooled by farmers from four villages in a single day, marking a notable milestone in the land aggregation process for the capital city.

The village-wise lands pooled on Wednesday are as follows: Velagapudi: 43.22 acres, Rayapudi: 31.005 acres, Lingayapalem: 16.90 acres and Thulluru: 9.76 acres.
