Elephant Movement Triggers Alert in Tirupati’s Seshachalam Forest

Tirupati: The movement of elephants in the Seshachalam forest area has raised concern among local residents, prompting forest officials to step up surveillance.

Officials have been put on high alert after a herd of elephants split into two groups. One group has been identified as moving towards Chandragiri, while the other is heading towards Tirumala.

Around 13 elephants are moving towards Chandragiri from the Bhakarapet and Diguvuru areas. Another group of 22 elephants is proceeding towards Tirumala through the forest route.

In view of the elephant movement, forest officials have advised residents of villages located close to the animals' movement routes to remain alert. The Forest Department is continuously monitoring the elephants using advanced drone cameras to track their locations and direction of movement.

Officials said they are prepared to take necessary action if required. Residents of Bhimavaram, Chinna Ramapuram and Kondreddy Kandriga villages have been particularly advised to exercise caution.

People have been urged not to enter forest areas unnecessarily and to avoid travelling alone along forest routes.
