Case Registered Against Dharmana Prasada Rao, 7 Others in Srikakulam
According to reports, around 250 houses were sanctioned for fishermen who lost their homes during Cyclone Hudhud in Kunduvanipeta village of Srikakulam district during the previous TDP government led by N Chandrababu Naidu.
Srikakulam: A case has been registered against YSRCP leader and former minister Dharmana Prasada Rao at Srikakulam Rural Police Station on Saturday.
Sub-Inspector Karanam Suresh registered the case based on a complaint filed by VV Satyaji, Deputy Executive Engineer (DEE), Housing Department, Srikakulam.
According to reports, around 250 houses were sanctioned for fishermen who lost their homes during Cyclone Hudhud in Kunduvanipeta village of Srikakulam district during the previous TDP government led by N Chandrababu Naidu.
During the distribution of the houses, pattas for some houses were not handed over as the beneficiaries were absent. Later, some fishermen belonging to the YSRCP reportedly approached the district Collector seeking the handover of their houses.
On May 14, Dharmana Prasada Rao, along with ZPTC member Ruppa Divya, reportedly visited the village and allegedly conducted house-warming ceremonies for six fishermen without obtaining permission from the authorities.
Following the complaint, a case was registered against eight people, including six fishermen, Dharmana Prasada Rao and ZPTC member Ruppa Divya.
Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
