E-Complaint Kiosk Launched at Vizag Railway Station

Visakhapatnam: Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Saturday inaugurated the ‘Mee Police Mee Friend’ digital e-complaint kiosk at Visakhapatnam railway station, enabling passengers to lodge complaints without visiting a police station.
The kiosk is linked to the online PGRS system. Visakhapatnam commissioner of police Dr Sankhabrata Bagchi and others were present.
Speaking on the occasion, the home minister said an average 1.5 lakh passengers travelled to and from Visakhapatnam daily and their safety was important to the police.
Passengers can lodge voice complaints in Telugu, Hindi and English. She said linking the kiosk to the PGRS system would ensure transparency in handling complaints.
“The police are using the latest technology to serve the public more efficiently which is required in a place like Visakhapatnam city where tourism and industrial activity has increased over the years,” the home minister said.
The commissioner of police said e-complaint kiosks had been introduced in the city for the convenience of people who need not visit police stations. Kiosks had also been set up at the RTC Complex, he said.
