Document Writers Call Off Stir; Registration Services to Continue in AP
Document writers withdrew their protest after talks with the government, ensuring uninterrupted registration services across Andhra Pradesh.
Registration services will continue without disruption across Andhra Pradesh from Friday after document writers called off their agitation following assurances from the state government over the functioning of the proposed Registration Seva Kendras (RSKs).
Commissioner and inspector general of registration and stamps Dr G.B.R. Ambedkar held discussions with representatives of the agitating document writers in Vijayawada on Thursday and clarified the objectives, functioning and services to be offered through the RSKs.
He said the centres are intended to provide transparent, faster and more convenient document registration services and would not adversely affect the livelihood of document writers.
Following the meeting, the document writers withdrew their protest and announced their support for the registration process.
Dr Ambedkar said the public could continue to avail themselves of registration services without any inconvenience.
