Mysore Royal Family Offers Prayers at Tirumala

Temple priests also offered Vedic blessings after the darshan.

Tirupati:Dr Pramoda Devi Wadiyar and Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar of the erstwhile Mysore royal family offered prayers at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala on Thursday.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials received them at the temple in accordance with tradition and arranged ‘First Harathi’ darshan. Temple priests also offered Vedic blessings after the darshan.

Their visit came a day after the traditional Pallavotsavam was held in Tirumala in connection with the birth anniversary of the Maharaja of Mysore.

The Pallavotsavam has been observed in Tirumala for generations, reflecting the long-standing association between the Mysore royal family and the temple.

As part of the celebrations, Malayappa Swamy, along with Sridevi and Bhudevi, was taken in a procession to the Karnataka Choultry. Members of the Mysore royal family and Karnataka government officials welcomed the deities and performed traditional rituals.

Special pujas were performed and *naivedyam* was offered to the deities.
