Devotional fervour marked Durgashtami celebrations across Nellore district on Sunday, with temples witnessing a heavy influx of devotees.
The Sri Rajarajeswari Ammavari Devasthanam in Nellore conducted special rituals and religious programmes as part of the Navaratri festivities. Devotees gathered in large numbers to offer prayers and seek the blessings of the presiding deity.
The celebrations will continue on Monday, October 19, with Maha Navami. According to the schedule released by the Devasthanam, special rituals, including Suprabhata Seva, Abhishekam and Kumkumarchana, will be performed.
Temple authorities made arrangements to facilitate devotees’ participation in the rituals and ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities.
