Kakinada: The Kakinada Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) has signed a pact with Gujarat-based DACL Fine Chem Ltd for setting up a specialty chemicals manufacturing facility with an investment of ₹500 crore.
The MoU was signed by KSEZ managing director and CEO Ram Reddy Ojili and DACL Fine Chem chairman Amit Mehta.
Ram Reddy said the project would be developed on 50 acres within KSEZ and manufacture high-value specialty chemicals for domestic and international markets. The investment is expected to generate substantial direct and indirect employment while strengthening the region's manufacturing base.
He said the investment reflected the growing confidence of manufacturing companies in KSEZ's infrastructure, strategic location and integrated industrial ecosystem. He expressed confidence that the project would further position Kakinada as a preferred destination for specialty chemicals and advanced manufacturing.
Promoted as Auro Industrial City, KSEZ is one of India's largest port-integrated industrial parks, spread across 6,000 acres. Ram Reddy said its strategic location, world-class infrastructure, multimodal connectivity and proximity to the upcoming Kakinada Gateway Port make it an ideal destination for export-oriented and large-scale manufacturing industries.
He said the industrial park provides dedicated infrastructure and utilities for sectors including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food processing, engineering and clean energy.
Ram Reddy said the project marks another milestone in KSEZ's efforts to attract high-value manufacturing investments and reinforces Andhra Pradesh's emergence as a destination for specialty chemicals and export-oriented industries.
