Ongole: Tension prevailed at the YSRCP office in Ongole of Prakasam district after a clash broke out among party cadre on Wednesday.
The incident occurred during arrangements to pay tributes to former Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy on his birth anniversary. According to reports, an argument began when some male workers allegedly stepped on the feet of women activists near the statue while offering tributes.
When the women questioned their behaviour, the situation escalated, leading to a physical altercation. Members of the party split into two groups and attacked each other. Women were seen pulling each other’s hair, while men engaged in scuffles, tearing shirts in the melee.
The sudden clash created chaos at the party office, disrupting the programme.
