Hyderabad: The Central government has approved Rs.679.71 crore for Andhra Pradesh for the widening and strengthening of NH-42 from Mudigubba to Kadiri in Sri Sathya Sai district, upgrading it from a two-lane road with paved shoulders to a 4-lane highway with paved shoulders.
This was stated by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday.
The project will provide seamless connectivity from Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts, as well as parts of Karnataka, to the Bengaluru–Vijayawada–Kolkata (BKV) Expressway, Tirupati, and Chennai. It will reduce travel and freight transit time, decongest traffic, and strengthen regional logistics and economic activity.
