Bobbili Woman Dies by Suicide in Hotel

Visakhapatnam: A woman allegedly died by suicide in a hotel in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

According to reports, the deceased was identified as Rashida Begum, a native of Bobbili and used to work at a beauty parlour. Police said she was reportedly distressed following the sudden death of her lover, Lingala Venkat, who is said to have died of a heart attack on July 6.

Rashida reportedly checked into Hotel 365 Innovation on Sunday and booked a room. When she did not respond or open the door until the afternoon, hotel staff alerted the police.

Police arrived at the hotel and found the woman hanging from the ceiling fan, allegedly using her scarf. The body was shifted for postmortem examination.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
