Kurnool:BJP state president P.V.N. Madhav on Monday alleged that Rayalaseema has been subjected to exploitation of its natural resources for decades, resulting in the region's continued backwardness.

Addressing the Rising Rayalaseema programme at Rayalaseema University in Kurnool, Madhav said that despite the region producing several chief ministers and a President of India, it had not witnessed commensurate development.

“It is unclear why Rayalaseema continues to lag behind despite its contribution to leadership at both the state and national levels,” he said.

Alleging that the region’s resources had been utilised without adequate focus on its development, Madhav called for a clear vision to accelerate its growth and urged leaders to prioritise the region's interests.

He advocated preparing a comprehensive 20-year development roadmap for Rayalaseema, outlining key strategies for its progress, and stressed that the plan should be implemented effectively rather than remaining on paper.
